04 — A campaign of WE Foundation

Embracing change, one hug at a time.

Project Aalingan began as a heartfelt initiative by Mr. Mohit Parth in collaboration with Dr. Shambhavi Pandey in 2021, combining their shared vision for a world where emotional support and mental-health awareness take centre stage.

The word Aalingan — meaning embrace — reflects the essence of the project: fostering connection, comfort and healing through understanding and compassion.

What started as a small step toward promoting mental well-being has grown into one of the WE Foundation's most impactful campaigns — a movement touching lives across schools, communities and organisations.

With mascots like Jhappi, the warm hug of care, and Mio, the cheerful companion, it stands as a beacon of hope. The campaign has reached thousands, breaking stigmas, inspiring open dialogue, and reinforcing the message that seeking help is a sign of strength.

M

MIO — the Lady in Purple

Say hello to MIO, the beloved mascot of WE Foundation. Radiating faith and hope, MIO represents the essence of resilience and transformation. Her name means hope — and she is a healer in her early twenties, called so for her selfless contribution towards nurturing the needy.

With her vibrant persona, MIO inspires individuals to embrace their authentic selves, break free from stereotypes, and step into a life filled with endless possibilities. She is the friendly existence that people need in today's time.

Through MIO, the foundation has introduced a series of transformative journals:

  • Gratitude
  • Forgiveness
  • Overcoming limiting beliefs
  • Self-discovery

Each journal offers practical tools and thoughtful prompts to encourage reflection and positive change — companions for a life of resilience, authenticity and fulfilment.

Jhappi — the warm hug of care

You will see Jhappi as a pillow, a cushion — and that is deliberate. So many people end up alone with their pillow, holding on to it for comfort at the hour when there is nobody else to hold. Jhappi is that comfort, given a name.

The adorable emblem of Project Aalingan represents the healing power of a hug: a simple yet profound gesture of comfort and love.

Symbolises
Love, care and emotional support.
Role
Advocating for mental well-being, encouraging open conversations, and reminding everyone of the transformative power of kindness and empathy.

Through Jhappi, WE Foundation conveys the message that no one is alone in their struggles — and that togetherness can heal wounds and uplift spirits.
